Q: What are you trying to do?
  4. 4
A: Beat the Battle Factory without manip, going for the fastest time for Silver and/or Gold Symbol.

  6. 6
    Q: Why <L100/L50> and not <L50/L100>? Why <Doubles/Singles> and not <Singles/Doubles>?
  7. 7
A: They are separate categories, just focusing on this one for now. I plan on doing them all.
  8. 8
L50 is easier/faster (HP bars go down quicker, and you have less 'guessing' of what set the opponent is using in sets 5 and 6), but also a bit more boring because the early L50 pokemon are not as fun to use.

Q: Are the sets the same between Singles and Doubles?
  11. 11
    A: Yes.

  13. 13
Q: How does the AI work?
  14. 14
A: The AI gets progressively 'better' as the sets go.
  15. 15
Set 1-2 has Random AI (Uses random moves. Switches are not random, however.)
  16. 16
Set 3-4 has Semi-Random AI (Will not use a move that does nothing, but otherwise choses random moves)
  17. 17
Set 5 onwards, and fight 21 with Noland has Good AI (Tries to use best move in all scenarios. Some weighting is still weird, though.)

Q: When do you do swaps?
  20. 20
A: Only when it actually makes the team better. Swapping is more beneficial in Gen 4 Factory than Gen 3, in Gen 3 it's not worth doing for the increase in "better pokes", and during the set if you swap, you're actually swapping for a worse IV poke.
  21. 21
This is because opponents have IVs of 3 for their Pokemon (excluding the 7th battle), whereas the IVs for your Pokemon are 3 in the first set, but then go up to 6 for the second, 9 for the third, etc.

Q: What are you playing on, it is emulator?
  24. 24
    A: No, I'm playing on a DS.

    Q: What is WR?
  27. 27
    A: See: Splits

Q: What power does Return / Frustration have?
  30. 30
A: Always max, no matter which, so 102.

Q: What is with those split icons? What does A and B mean?
  33. 33
A: This is a grading system for all of my splits. I'm sure you are familiar with grades, A+ being the best then going down from there. So the idea is, if the split has an A+ next to it, my time there was really good and would be very difficult to beat. If it's a C though for example, it was quite poor, and I should be able to save time there pretty easily.
  34. 34
  35. 35
This way, everyone watching has more accurate information on where I can save time, and where I should be making up time. Also that all time loss is not equal, as losing time vs an A+ split isn't really that bad, whereas losing time vs a C split is really bad. It'll probably take a while for a lot of people watching to pick up the meaning so I will appreciate everyone who explains how this works (correctly) in chat to new people.
