    Q: What's with the long category name?

    A: I'll break it down in chunks:

    Goku just means that I am playing through Goku's story. In Budokai 3 you can play through the story mode with several characters and I just chose to learn Goku.

    Z3 is the hardest difficulty in Budokai 3. The AI is absolutely brutal in this mode. They teleport all the time, they start at level 140, and will mess you up

    Any% Breakthrough is the type of category im running. When you complete a playthrough with your character, in my case, Goku - but you collect all 7 Dragon Balls, you unlock the Breakthrough Capsule. The Breakthrough capsule gives you every transformation in the game, as well as Dragon Fist and 10x Kamehameha. So it's kind of like New Game+ in a way

    Q: What makes this run so hard?

    A: So you start at level 0, and every opponent on Z3 is maxed out in every stat, which adds up to level 140. Raditz in particular is the hardest fight in the game cause he has 7 health bars and due to you being level 0 you deal like no damage. After beating Raditz the run gets a smidge easier cause you level up 21 times, and you put 20 of those points into attack. Some other tough fights are Frieza 100%, Cell, and Kid Buu, but realistically every fight can destroy you if you get shitty RNG.

    Q: Do you plan to learn other characters?

    A: I'm most interested in Piccolo or Vegeta I think, but I want to get a good Goku run first.

    Q: How are you comboing so fast?

    A: The main technique that allows this game to be run at crazy speeds is "Guard Canceling" or "Canceling" for short. Every time you do any charging move in Budokai 1 2 or 3, you can press the guard button to fully cancel the animation of said attack. So if you hold down P+K and then hit guard, you'll go back to a neutral stance. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube on how to Guard Cancel, and its essential for running this game.

    Q: What's the WR?

    A: The WR for Goku Any% Z3 (Breakthrough) on PS2 is 23:11 by Adrian_Proshka. Adrian is by far and away the best Budokai 3 player in the world, competitively and speedrunning. He has played this game for years and knows this game in and out. I recommend giving him a follow cause he's been streaming a lot lately. What he's able to do in this game is inhuman.
