I recently returned after about a month off from playing osu!, and had a quick scroll through osu! direct to pick up a few new maps. One such map was "Hot Right Now (Radio Edit) (Nightcore Mix)", mapped by mex1337.

I have to admit, when I saw this I was a little hesitant to download it, due to some preconceived notions I have about the building blocks which made up the map listing.

osu! as of late has had a bit of an issue with low quality content flooding the ranked session. On the surface, this one checked all of the boxes.

All of these aspects point to this being an example of "aimslop", which I have made a point of avoiding at all costs. I don't wish to contribute to the play counts of these maps. It's about the only thing I can do to send a message that the ranking of those maps is not okay, in my opinion.

But this map was different. I downloaded it anyway, and it was just a *good* map, with some intersting patterns and ideas, normal amount of difficulty for its rating (uninflated), etc.

It wasn't anything truly special, it wasn't a complete RLC masterpiece, but it was lovely. It really made an impression on me, to the point where I'm making this post.

What are some other recent maps where all signs point to "slop", but the map is a pleasant breath of fresh air? Because I actually *like* pop, I *like* drum and bass, and I *like* eurodance and nightcore, so it's nice to know that the ranked section isn't completely polluted.

This is what I'll be describing as "antislop"
